This very well documented guidebook for one of the richest royal cities of the Hittites, the Boğazköy – Hattousa, in the North of the Ankara’s plateau, was prepared by Kurt Bittel, who has, since 1931, been director of the Boğazköy excavations and at the same time was Professor of Prehistoric Studies at the University of Istanbul.
