Title
Archaeological site of Olbia: the bases of the colonnade on the northeast side of the agora
Description
At the archaeological site of Olbia (Ukraine ), many years of excavation have revealed the bases of the colonnade on the northeast side of the agora, which led to the sanctuary of Apollo, where the monumental altar is preserved. The development of the dominant Milesian and Olbian cults is illustrated by the epithets ascribed to the god Apollo over time: Iatros and Delphinios, Lykeios, Boreios, Thargylios, Prostates. In later years there was also the fraternity of the Boraïkoi, whose members worshipped Apollo as a universal deity (suggesting an inclination toward monotheism).
