'The Dadia-Lefkimi-Soufli Forest National Park (DNP) in the Administrative Unit of Evros (in NE Greece) is one of the most important sites for the conservation of birds of prey and vultures in Europe. A Nature Reserve since 1980, the Park was established in 2006 and covers an area of 42,800 ha of which 7,800 ha are included in a strictly protected zone. Until now scientists have recorded ca 360 species of plants, including 25 orchids, 104 species of butterflies, 17 species of fresh-water fish, 13 species of amphibians, 29 species of reptiles, 60-65 species of mammals, and more than 200 species of birds.'
