Kletos Chadzitheokletos, Hieronymus’ Memories (Athens 1991) in Greek. Hieronymus of Cardia (Gr: Ἱερώνυμος ὁ Καρδιανός, c. 360–c. 260 BC) a contemporary of Alexander the Great (356–323) was a general and historian from the ancient Greek city of Cardia in the Gallipolis Peninsula in Thrace. He wrote a detailed History of the Diadochi of Alexander and their descendants, encompassing the period from the death of Alexander to the war with King Pyrrhus (323–272), which, although lost, is one of the chief authorities used by Diodorus Siculus, by Plutarch and other ancient historians. The author Kletos Chadzitheokletos ‘rewrites’ the lost History of the wise old man who lived in this terrible and almost unknown period of civil wars among the Diadochi from Macedonia to Egypt and from the Danube to the Hindus River.
