Data
In 2009, the Society for the Protection of Prespa (SPP) published a beautifully illustrated guidebook to 14 hiking trails in Greek Prespa, which has proved highly popular with tourists who wish to explore the area. The aim of the project was to promote the natural and cultural wealth of the area to visitors, as well as demonstrate their added value to the local tourism sector and wider community. The guidebook was developed with several SPP staff and a team of experts in their field, who all gave generously of their time and expertise to support the guide with as much rich, scientifically-based and interesting material about Prespa’s biodiversity, geology, history and culture as possible, and was funded by the Aage V. Jensen Charity Foundations as part of their long-term interest in and support of Prespa.
The guidebook is available from the SPP offices for visitors in Prespa, and comes in a special wallet with 4 detailed maps of the area and trails. (From the site of the SPP)
