Sophia Kotzabasi's Byzantine manuscripts of Asia Minor (in Greek) is a well-documented edition of unpublished manuscripts from Byzantine monasteries of Asia Minor located by the author through investigation of all the catalogues of Greek manuscripts and research carried out in nineteen libraries in Greece and abroad (including the Library of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the British Library, the Biblioteca Marciana and others). Most of the manuscripts were removed from their original settings (in monastic scriptoria and libraries) in various periods, but especially after the 11th c. The unique exception is the manuscripts found in 1874 in a monastery in Pisidia and transferred to what was then the Royal Library at Berlin (now the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin). The author attempts to attribute to each manuscript its original monastic context and to arrange the monasteries into 15 geographical units. She introduces each monastery with a brief historical outline (with references), followed by descriptions of the manuscripts and relevant bibliography. Bibliography, pp. IX-XIX.
