This is the Greek translation of Tariq Ali’s fascinating novel A Sultan in Palermo. It is a historical novel about the kingship of the Norman King of Sicily Roger II – a ‘sultan’ due to the outstanding Muslims in his court and his kingdom. The main figure is the Arab geographer, cartographer and man of letters and passion al-Idrῑsῑ (c. 1100-1166). The translation is excellent.

>>>>> Attached here (in the Texts) we have published pp. 9-26 of the Greek edition (in pdf) with the Contents, Glossary, Biography of al-Idrῑsῑ and five pages of the narration.
