M. Melirrytos, Historical and Geographical Description (from an Ecclesiastical Perspective) of the God-Protected Province of Maroneia (Constantinople 1871) in Greek. Reprinted in: Thracian Annals t. I by the Cultural Association of Komotini - Centre for Thracian Studies (in 1980) pp. 47-112. 
The Epirote physician who lived for about a decade in the town Maroneia (1860–1871) and published this historical work on the Province of Maroneia in 1871 is recorded in literature and official archives exclusively as M. Melirrytos, Doctor of Medicine. Despite the significance of his treatise for this part of Aegean Thrace during the Late Ottoman period, his full Christian first name is preserved neither on the cover of the original edition nor in subsequent academic analyses or re-editions of the Thracian Annals (Thrakiki Epeterida), which continue to refer to him as "M. Melirrytos." This extremely rare and beautiful surname is found chiefly in Epirus (NW Greece). 
His work covers the towns and villages that fell under the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Metropolis of Maroneia, from Maroneia itself (now on the coast of the Rhodope Prefecture) to Makri and Feres (in the southern part of the present-day Evros Prefecture), as well as the islands of Samothrace (in the Evros Regional Unit / Prefecture) and Thasos (in the Kavala Regional Unit / Prefecture). The original treatise, published in Constantinople in 1871 "with the permission of the Ecumenical Patriarchate" (totaling 86 pages), concludes with a very interesting registry of "Philomuse Subscribers"—that is, those who pre-purchased the book to support its publication. This long catalog constitutes a significant historical document of the era in its own right.
