Nikos Sifounakis, Imbros – Tenedos. The last Greek days.Testimonies from documents and notes of the last Greek prefect Ioannes Papoutsidakis (in Greek). Historical study of politics and diplomacy surrounding the question of Imbros at the Lausanne Conference (1923) and the island’s concession to Turkey. Publishes texts of treaties, official documents, correspondence and archival material, official and private. Four Appendices: A. verbatim “journal” (28.5 – 10.10.1923) of Ioannes Papoutsidakis, last Greek prefect of Imbros, B. relevant articles concerning Imbros and Tenedos from the Treaty of Lausanne, and excerpts from interview with E. Venizelos in 1923, C. interview made in June 1991 by the author of inhabitants of the village Agridia (without interest). Plentiful modern C and BW phot (some from the author’s collection), phot from 1900-1990 (some rare), phot of documents, old postcards from the A. Maillis Collection, a color lithograph of the “Triumphant Averoff” and two color paintings of the naval battle between Tenedos and Lemnos in January 1913 from the Archive of the Historical and Ethnological Society of Greece.
