Current location
Istanbul, Old City, Fener neighborhood. The gate is embodied into the outer fence of the Ioakeimeion High School for Girls (Ioakeimeion Parthenagogeion). Most probably this has been the original location of the mansion’s entrance, long before the School was erected on the grounds of this aristocratic residence.
Inscription
The inscription on the lintel develops the text in five lines; the first two lines are carved in the upper part and cover the whole space of the marble frame; the other three are written between two rosettes which decorate the left and right side of the lintel. The text is written in capital letters.
Period of inscription
Middle Ottoman period, 18th c.
